How are Home Inspections done during Covid-19?
During these unprecedented times, we have all had to make adjustments to our lifestyle as well as the way we do business. During the Worldwide pandemic now known as "Covid-19", we at Diamond Property Inspections have taken the extra necessary precautions to continue to serve our customers.
As a Realtor, the first thing that should be taken into consideration before scheduling a Home Inspection should be confirming that no one is symptomatic in the home. This can be done by a simple interview with the Buyers/Sellers as well as following the new C.A.R (California Association Of Realtors) guidelines known as "PEAD" Corona Virus Property Entry Advisory & Declaration form. Additionally, finding a Home Inspector that will not only abide by the California "Safer at home" guidelines that have been put in place by practicing social distancing and proper safety equipment known as PPE - It is also equally important to have your Home Inspector respect the wishes of the property owner to ensure expectations are met and not have any miscommunication.
Here are the precautions I am taking when performing a Home Inspection:
Checking to see that no one is symptomatic in the property.
Use of hand sanitizer before entering the home.
Washing hands thoroughly before, during, and after inspection.
Wearing of respirator/face covering.
Wearing of Disposable shoe covers.
Wearing of Disposable gloves.
Maintain 6 feet Physical Distance.
